ENG vs AUS Match Prediction : Who will win Today World Cup Match | England vs Australia | Cricket World Cup 2019

ENG vs AUS Match Prediction : Biggest rivalry of them all set to explode the CWC’s stage on Tuesday

England Vs Australia Match Prediction

India vs Pakistan and England vs Australia. If there are two matches which trump all others, its these two. These are two matches held in massive reverence, between teams who thrust their all when taking on each other.

When the matches for the showpiece tournament were released, this was one match which was awaited with bathed breathed. And we finally have the marquee clash making a foray in the Cricket World Cup with the two sides set to clash heads on Tuesday in their league stage encounter.

With worldclass players filled to the brim in both the outfits, this match has all the ingredients in it of being a real cracker. Especially given the way England floundered against Bangladesh recently, putting their qualification for a last four spot in peril, expect the home side to come hot out the blocks in this one.

Still to play Australia, New Zealand and India and needed to win atleast the one match and wishing that other results swing their way, the home side no longer look the invincible everyone was billing them to be. The side go into every match with a one track gameplan, looking to bat first and put the runs on the board with no strategy in place while chasing.

Elsewhere, Australia have assured themselves of a spot in the semi-final after becoming the first side to reach the stage after getting the better of Bangladesh the last time around. The 48 run win for them now sees them having constructed a three match winning spree, one which has seen them pp England to earn the status of one of the favourites for the glistening trophy.

Previous Encounters : England vs Australia Head to Head

A coveted rivalry, one which dates all the way back to 1970 in the ODI arena, the two sides have seen a humongous 147 cricket matches being contested between the two sides till date. Its Australia who hold a massive advantage, winning 81 matches as opposed to the 61 wins for England. We’ve seen two matches end in draws as well while three have failed to give us a result after being truncated.

The most recent was a five match ODI series contested in England with the hosts comfortably decimating Australia to sweep the series 5-0. From the land of the World Cup, its Australia who have fared much better, winning 5 matches out of the 7 played till date while our home side for today have the 2 wins to their name.

Players to watch for :

Jofra Archer Vs David Warner

Two players who have taken the initiative, putting in decisive performances to reaffirm their role as mainstays for their side, these players are going to be at loggerheads in this match. This battle accords massive importance for either side with the one winning this bound to give us side a massive upper hand.

Especially on a Lord’s surface which looks to have lateral and unpredictable bounce as was visible during South Africa’s and Pakistan’s encounter a couple of days back, the new ball could decide how this match shapes up. He was billed as a player who would take command of his side, a pacer who England claimed would emerge as a surprise package and Archer has just done that.

Taking hold of an otherwise abysmal pace battery, his treacherous pace, trajectory and bounce has left batsmen in tatters. However, up against Warner, he knows the swinging and pacey ball wont trouble the opener who has found his way to the top of the standings with the highest score in 166 till now.

The one are Warner could struggle though is the shorter ball, something Archer exploits brilliantly. The opener likes to pull and find the boundary at anything near his neck or above and is often prone to miscuing the ball.

Nathan Coulter-Nile Vs Joe Root

A player extradonaire, a number 3 bat who intertwines the sublime ability to keep his intent in check in the beginning and open his arms once settled into his grove, Root is the player who has held fort in each and every match for England. A dependable and flawless player, he’s befittingly the high scorer of the tournament till now, always ensuring England are never caught in a jittery position.

He’s one of the most prized wicket and Australia will be turning to Nathan Coulter-Nile to send him back. The pacer has over the last couple of matches worked on his bowling, reaping its rewards with some important scalps and will be looking to pepper Root with some treacherous deliveries as well. There’s only one strategy to go for against the batsman, bowl at a wicket to wicket line and keep hitting the ball near his pads with some outswing, something Nathan will look to turn to.

ENG vs AUS Probable Winner

A clash between two teams who match each other blow for blow, this encounter is perfectly set up between two teams who hold the same strengths and weaknesses. They are two batting heavy teams, relying on the one spearhead in the bowling unit to come and rescue them each time other.

It’s extremely tough to call a winner out of this one, a tricky proposition which has left us pondering. However after several deliberations and dissecting the two teams, we are going to side with England if they bat first. Australia have problems in the middle-order and if Warner, Finch and Smith go early, they’ll find it tough to chase down England’s hefty score.

However things turn if England are asked to chase. Australia came through a scathing defence against West Indies, showing they have the composure needed and Starc should be too much fore England to handle when under brute pressure.
