Faheem Ashraf uproots: The all-rounder from Islamabad United was the pick of their bowlers at the National Stadium tonight.

During the 12th match of the ongoing sixth season of the Pakistan Super League between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators in Karachi, Islamabad United all-rounder knocked out Quetta Gladiators opening batsman’s Cameron Delport’s off-stump to register a delightful sight.

It all happened on the first delivery of the third over when Delport’s attempt of attacking Ashraf proved too costly for him. Having missed the line of the ball, the southpaw witnessed his off-stump being airborne.

After Saim Ayub (5) in the first over, Delport (1) became the second Quetta batsman to get out after Islamabad captain Shadab Khan won the toss and chose to field.

Ashraf, who got a wicket off his first ball at the National Stadium tonight, ended up being the pick of his team’s bowlers as his bowling figures of 4-0-11-3 played a pivotal role in restricting Gladiators to 156/7 in 20 overs.

Apart from Delport, Ashraf also dismissed Gladiators batsman Azam Khan (4) and captain Sarfaraz Ahmed (54). While Khan had terribly mis-timed an ordinary delivery on the off-side, Ahmed was found wanting in front of stumps whilst want to attack Ashraf in the 17th over.

Other than Ashraf, United fast bowler Hasan Ali and captain Shadab Khan picked two and one wicket respectively.
