“Perez knows that Max will bend him”- Alpha Tauri boss claims that Sergio Perez will be a huge success if the car suits him.

Alpha Tauri boss Franz Tost, who is responsible for Red Bull’s sister team- Alpha Tauri, was among the first to witness Max Verstappen’s potential in his early days in the motorsport.

He is fully confident of Verstappen’s abilities, but at the same time, he has tipped for Sergio Perz’s success in Red Bull, even though he never grew under his umbrella.

“If the car suits him, Perez will certainly ensure good results. He will leave his mark and collect many points, but Verstappen will not break him because he knows how fast he is. Perez knows that Max is going to bend him and that he has no chance,” said Tost.

“If you go there as a newcomer with very high expectations, you will go under when you find a Max Verstappen by your side there who has four or five years of F1 experience at the time, is one of the fastest drivers on the field, and you find a car that does not behave the way you want it to,” he said.

Sergio Perez is aware.

In Perez’s recent interviews, he has admitted that the Red Bull car is a bit difficult to handle and has also agreed to Verstappen’s natural talent.

But at the same time, he also realizes that this is a once in a lifetime move, and he has to perform exceptionally to uphold his reputation, as the management at Red Bull is considered to be demanding, seeing how they axed Pierre Gasly and Alex Albon in a quick span.

Perez recently had his first outing with Red Bull’s RB15 at Silverstone before driving RB16B at the same venue.
