“We simply need to do better”- Mattia Binotto rumoured to be sacked by Ferrari
“We simply need to do better”- Mattia Binotto may get sacked by Ferrari, with the Italian outfit seeking growth in their position.
Multiple reports on Saturday rumoured that Ferrari would be firing Mattia Binotto from his position, as under him, the Italian outfit saw its worst phase since the turn of the millennium.
Moreover, Binotto himself declared that he would be inactive in several races for Ferrari this year. According to the journalist Serhan Acar, Binotto will have been removed from the team principal’s role to join the FIA World Motorsport Council, representing Ferrari.
On the other hand, Binotto has also admitted that this year everything is on the line for Ferrari, and another underwhelming year would present them a huge problem.
“As the team principal of Ferrari, I am fully aware of the responsibility I have got. I don’t feel the pressure, but the responsibility and the pride. We simply need to do better, and that is part of my responsibility.”
Binotto is definitely among the best engineers Ferrari ever had, and it wouldn’t let him be out of sight anytime soon. Still, it would probably need a more suitable person for the team principal role.
Ferrari looking for stability
Formula 1 CEO and former Ferrari man Stefano Domenicali has suggested to Binotto that it shall focus on its priorities with the tr=eam and ensure stability.
Interviewed by Corriere Della Serre, he said: “I see a company looking for stability that can guarantee competitiveness, but I have nothing to recommend to my friend Mattia Binotto.
“At Ferrari, it’s about staying focused on priorities without being distracted by the enormous pressure that surrounds you,” he concluded. Ferrari has claimed that this year it has progressed massively in pace when it comes to the straights.
Thus, it remains to be seen whether this speculation will give a boost to the team or a fatal blow?
