“Sometimes the best trade is the one you don’t make”: Skip Bayless believes the Lakers did the right move not trading away players for Kyle Lowry
The Lakers were one of the teams in the mix for Kyle Lowry along with Miami and Philly. Skip Bayless believes they dodged a bullet.
Although, after spending nearly 10 years with the Toronto Raptors, Kyle Lowry’s days for the Canadian team are coming to an end. Earlier this month, there was a lot of buzz regarding Lowry being traded off to another team. Some teams like Philadelphia and Miami were considered as the front runners for acquiring the 35-year-old All-Star.
Only days before the trade deadline, defending champions Los Angeles Lakers showed their interest in the 6-time All-Star. Surprisingly, Kyle Lowry didn’t get traded away in spite of him being expected to be gone to a contending team. According to Skip Bayless, the Lakers actually won the deal, not trading for the point guard. Bayless tweeted:
“Sometimes the best trade is the one you don’t make. The Lakers offered Schroder, KCP, THT and a pick for Kyle Lowry?!?! TOO MUCH, plus too much upheaval. Lowry an overrated star. 6 ft tall. Career 15/4/6. Tough, big heart. But needed Kawhi to win a title.”

Skip Bayless explains why he thinks Kyle Lowry wouldn’t be able to play with LeBron James
While the trade deadline wasn’t yet over, Bayless expressed his disliking of the Lowry to Lakers trade. He was unsure between the chemistry of Kyle Lowry and King James. Bayless, on the show ‘UNDISPUTED’, said:
“Kyle Lowry is a tough Philadelphia baller, but I always thought he was a little overrated… He’s his own man I’m not sure about the chemistry with LeBron James.”
“You’ve always said ‘LeBron can just make it work with anybody,’ and mostly he can unless somebody comes into the locker room and says ‘I know how to do this. I got this. I’m gonna take this team over.’”
Would Kyle Lowry change your life in LA? No. He’s an aging player and he’s his own man, he wants to do things his own way. I’m not sure the chemistry with LeBron James would be there. More @Undisputed, now on FS1 https://t.co/6B94ko9fa4

Being 35 years of age now, the Raptors won’t be keen on signing their All-Star point guard who showed several disinterests in playing with them. He isn’t the type of player that teams would easily trade for his massive $30.5 million contract.
