Ravindra Jadeja scores a double hundred in Ranji Trophy
The typical left-hander Ravindra Jadeja came to the fore as he essayed a flamboyant double century in the ongoing Ranji Trophy match against Jammu & Kashmir plying his trade for Saurashtra.
The Indian all-rounder was not seen in full-fledged action since the team’s three-match Test series against Sri Lanka in August.
He was rested for the home series against Australia and was not picked for New Zealand series that starts on October 22, Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Saurashtra were in all sorts of trouble when they were tottering at 59/3 after deciding to bat first on a good batting track.
Little did the opposition know Jadeja and Sheldon Jackson would be a surreal nightmare as the duo stitched together with a 281-run liaison.
Even after Sheldon Jackson lost his plot, Jadeja continued to slam the bowlers with relative ease and went on to score a peach of a double century.
His work-rate in inking the double ton was so good that he required 23 classic fours and 2 towering sixes to perfect the art into reality.
He took 313 balls to be in a crepuscular setting of composing the feat that surged the team to put up a meaty score of 624 runs in 135 overs.
In reply to Saurashtra’s total, Jammu & Kashmir were skittled out for a paltry 156 runs and were enforced a follow-on.
Jadeja who donned with the bat went on to throw spanner on the opposition works by claiming four wickets.
Jammu & Kashmir are still 400 runs behind. Their second innings score reads 68/1. This goes to show that Jadeja’s all-rounder traits proved significant for Saurashtra to dwell on their trip to success.
