“Yo LeBron James we own the Nets”: Anthony Davis’s animated exchange with his Lakers teammate during their loss to the Celtics sparks comic subtitles from NBA Twitter
LeBron James and Anthony Davis last played together more than 2 months ago. But they’re still in the spotlight with hysterics every now and then.
It’s no coincidence that the Lakers have been sliding down the standings since their 2 best players went down. LeBron and AD are both arguably top 5 players in the league at their best.
But you have to appreciate how well the Lakers have still coped of late. They blew out the Brooklyn Nets despite Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant being available for this fixture. Tonight’s loss is a win in the grand scheme, given their spirited fightback to make it a close one.
AD and LeBron provided us with more watchable sideline snippets as the game ran down. Their masks might’ve hid it, but they were hella gleeful when their garbage time unit practically erased a 27-point lead for the Celtics.
Anthony Davis whispers to LeBron James as NBA Twitter explodes
Anthony Davis is no stranger to on-court and off-court gimmicks. He’s always been the type of guy not to take himself too seriously, as his track record proves.
Davis seemed to be mocking outrage at something LeBron said or did late in tonight’s game. You can check out the footage for yourself. It definitely got NBA Twitter talking about them, and filling in with some hilarious subtitles:

As expected, NBA Twitter has come up big in this race for best subtitles. Most of them actually make sense on this post, which is a rarety for a social media platform infested with bots.
Neither of them is expected to stay off the court for too long. While Anthony Davis has been cleared for full-court basketball activities, LeBron is also recovering fast from his high ankle sprain.
