“What an awesome job”– Lewis Hamilton praises Lando Norris for his exceptional effort during the Emilia Romagna GP race.

Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris had a thrilling battle in Imola on Sunday for the P2, which Hamilton eventually won, but Norris gave a respectable resistance.

After the race, Hamilton was impressed by Norris’ effort and praised both Max Verstappen and Norris for their respective achievements and challenging him.

“Congratulations to Max; he did a fantastic job today – just solid work from him. And also to Lando, what an awesome job, and it’s so good to see McLaren back up there,” he said.

“On my side, it was not the greatest days, and it’s the first time I’ve made a mistake in a long time. But I’m grateful I was able to bring the car home today.”

Impatience cost the race.

Hamilton, who started the race from the pole position, soon lost his advantage and, for the rest of the race, vied to recover his position, and in the process, he went further down in the order.

“There was only one dry line, and I guess I was in too much of a hurry to get by everyone. I came to the inside, and I could see it was wet, and I was trying to stop, but the thing wouldn’t stop, and it sent me off.

“A bit unfortunate, but I’m really, really grateful we were able to get going again and to get some points for the team was really important today.”

Hamilton almost barged into the wall, though he went off track; he managed to keep the car safe and soon came in the race. The red flag helped him claim a podium, but it was an impressive recovery from P9, where he triumphed over both Mclaren and Ferrari.
