“I had a great relationship with Jose”: Harry Kane Reveals He Was Surprised To Learn Of Jose Mourinho’s Departure

Tottenham had decided to part company with the Portuguese earlier this week

Regressing as a unit and dwindling in the Premier League tally, it was only a matter of time before Jose Mourinho was going to find himself out of a job at Tottenham.

Not even getting till the end of the season, the Portuguese saw the axe wielded on him previously this week. Tottenham decided they had seen enough of the decadent Mourinho, a decision made in the wake of him falling out with the club’s squad.

Kane Lauds Jose

While the news of his departure has been welcomed by Tottenham’s ardent supporters, striker Harry Kane has batted for Mourinho. Speaking about Jose’s departure, Kane talked about the special relationship he shared with the Portuguese.

“I was surprised, I’ll be totally honest,” Kane said when speaking about Tottenham sacking Jose.

“I’ve been here now where a couple of managers have been sacked and, as a player now, I don’t think you ever expect the boss to be sacked but it’s part of the game, you have to deal with it.

“I had a great relationship with Jose, I wish him all the best for whatever his next job is, but he knows as we know football can be cut-throat and we just have to look forward. We have a big final to prepare for now and we’re looking forward to that.”

Kane is at the moment an injury doubt for Tottenham’s forthcoming affair against Manchester City. The striker had ended up missing his side’s bygone 2-1 win against Southampton.

Tottenham will be desperately wishing the club’s top scorer gets the go ahead for their Carabao Cup summit clash. The forthcoming final is a massive moment for the club to break their duck of going 13 years without a trophy.

City on the other hand will be looking to make it four successive Carabao Cup triumphs when the two sides lock heads.
