“I had LeBron James on my team, and I didn’t wanna see Kevin Durant”: Richard Jefferson has a message for Knicks fans mouthing off Kevin Durant
NBA Commentator Richard Jefferson has a message for New York Knicks fans as a possible Knicks-Nets playoffs matchup seems in the cards
The New York Knicks are having a season they have dreamed of for years. They beat the Raptors 120-103 last night and boosted their win streak to 9. With that win, their hold on the 4th spot solidifies even further, as they now have a 34-27 record to boast. A huge reason for the Knicks being the way they are this season is Julius Randle and his outstanding form. Randle has been leading the Knicks averaging 24 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 6 assists a game every night.
With the Knicks achieving the success they are, their fans are obviously excited about the same. In fact, it is said that quite a lot of them made their way to Kevin Durant‘s DMs. There they boasted about their success and expressed their desire for the Nets to meet the Knicks in a ‘subway series’ in the playoffs. Allegedly KD replied by saying he would love for the same to happen.
Richard Jefferson warns Knicks fans
Richard Jefferson has a lengthy NBA career in his resume. He started his career off with the Nets, where they went to the Finals. He has played for multiple teams, and with a lot of superstars. In ‘The Jump’ Rachel Nichols talked about the DM exchange KD had with a Knicks fan. Jefferson immediately went quiet, and just had one thing to say.
“I had LeBron James on my team and I didn’t want to see Kevin Durant.”
It was all fun and games playing “Can I have a word” with @RJeff24 and @Matt_Barnes22…until we got into the topic of Knicks fans getting into Kevin Durant’s DM’s. Matt says NY fans should talk their talk…just not to KD. Richard says Knicks fans should talk to him instead 😂 pic.twitter.com/88xf2mgM0V

Kevin Durant is easily one of the scariest players to face off against when he is totally healthy. Even though the Knicks have been playing really well, they do not want to make things worse for themselves by making KD have a personal vendetta in the playoffs.
However, the subway series happening is still a long shot. Even if standings are to stay what they are currently, the Nets and the Knicks would both have to win their first-round matchups before they get to play against each other.
