“Being part of their Academy, he will have advantages”– Nikita Mazepin alleges that at Haas, Mick Schumacher has undue advantages.
Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher don’t seem to be the teammates who are getting along well with each other. Now, the Russian driver accuses his teammate of having an undue advantage over him.
Haas being one of the least privileged teams on the grid, doesn’t have the start of the art facilities than Mercedes and Ferrari. Thus, Mazepin is not provided with many resources, but he alleges that same is not the case with Schumacher.
“My preparation for Portimao (next GP ed.) Will not be easy: we don’t have a simulator in Haas and therefore we have to use those that most professional pilots have at home,” said Mazepin to MatchTv.
“On the contrary, perhaps Mick will have permission to use the Ferrari simulator: being part of their Academy, he will have advantages that are unknown to me.”
Unpleasant start to F1 career
Mazepin had a rough start to his career in F1, with his debut race being shorter than an evening walk. And in Imola, things were not any better, as he finished 17th.
F1 is surprisingly intense for me. Obviously, I imagined it, even if I didn’t expect such frenetic qualifying. Everyone looks at you, and every misstep has its consequences.”
“But when I lower the visor, I only think about running. It is very important to keep learning. I’m pretty sure I’ll be in this paddock at least a few years. I will not start to panic.”
Whilst his performances for Haas have so far been poor, he is highly infamous among the F1 fans, who have disliked him since his alleged harassment video leaked online shortly after his hiring by Haas in 2020.
