Pat Cummins IPL 2021 auction price: The Australian fast bowler has become the first IPL 2021 player to donate wholeheartedly.

Australia and Kolkata Knight Riders fast bowler Pat Cummins has come forward to donate 50,000 dollars to PM Cares fund amidst India’s fight with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cummins, 27, took to social media platform Twitter to make the announcement at a time when he is in India to take part in the ongoing 14th season of the Indian Premier League.

In addition to the record-breaking number of cases which India is experiencing on a daily basis, the shortage of hospital beds and oxygen cylinders have been further adding to India’s woes.

“I encourage my fellow IPL players – and anyone else around the world who has been touched by India’s passion and generosity – to contribute. I will kick it off with $50,000,” read a part of Cummins tweet which was posted in the form of an image.

Into his fifth IPL season (fourth at Knight Riders), Cummins has picked four wickets at an average of 45.50, an economy rate of 9.17 and a strike rate of 29.7. In four innings with the bat, Cummins’ 82 runs have come at a strike rate of 190.69 including a career-best 66* (34) against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium.

In the five matches that KKR have played this season, they have won just one and lost four to currently be at the eighth position on the points table.

Before IPL 2020, Cummins had last played in the IPL for Delhi Capitals (then Daredevils) in 2017. It was during IPL 2020 auction that Kolkata had acquired Cummins’ services for a mammoth INR 15.50 crore.
