“I think it would behoove the company to let him do that” – WWE Hall of Famer says Daniel Bryan should be allowed to wrestle outside

WWE Hall of Famer says Daniel Bryan should be allowed to wrestle outside for other promotions without having to part ways with his present company.

Daniel Bryan has previously spoken of his desire to wrestle outside the WWE. But has also admitted that doing so while still being with the WWE is almost impossible. As unlikely as the idea seems, the former WWE Champion has found support in one Hall of Famer.

Sean Waltman, also known as X-Pac, is of the belief that WWE should give their nod to Bryan and allow him to freelance with other companies while still being a part of WWE. He shared his opinion on the latest episode of the Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast.

“That’s smart of him (Daniel Bryan) because he’s trying to preserve his relationship with the company and still be able to go out there and do things to satisfy himself at this stage of his life and career.”

“And I think it would behoove the company to let him do that, honestly. I’m not saying, ‘Hey, go ahead and go main event an AEW pay-per-view’ or something. But if he wanted to go out and do his own thing and even produce it himself, good for him.”

Daniel Bryan is currently scheduled to face Roman Reigns on SmackDown for the Universal Championship. If he fails to overcome the Tribal Chief he will be banished from Friday Nights. While many believe that this may lead to a move to Monday Nights, on a recent interview on My Mom’s Basement with Robbie Fox, he alluded that his upcoming match may possibly be the end.

“Roman is just really good, and he has chemistry with a lot of people. I feel like I have chemistry with a lot of people. But I think one of the things that’s interesting is just our history together. I think that’s part of what makes the matches intriguing, and the fact that it hasn’t been seen a ton. Singles matches at least. We did one at Fastlane 2015, one at Fastlane this year, a super short match at Elimination Chamber and then this one. That will be all of them.”

Hopefully it’s the former and not the latter. While Bryan has quietly been preparing for life after wrestling, WWE fans are still not yet ready for a universe without him in it.
