Virat Kohli overtakes AB de Villers in the ICC ODI rankings
The battle for the best batsman in the cricket fraternity is still going on. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are the two batsmen who comes into our mind when it comes to being the best.
Virat Kohli dethroned AB de Villiers to second place to retain the top spot in the ICC ODI rankings with 889 points to his name.

Kohli who was level on terms with Ricky Ponting in record 30 ODI centuries, surpassed the record during the ODI series opener against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium.
In the series decider against the same nation, the Indian captain went on to add one more century into his parking lot. That adds 32 to his tally and that sums up the essential Virat Kohli for you!
AB de Villiers, on the other hand, comes just after Kohli with 872 points. He scored a belligerent 176 against Bangladesh that kept him at the top for a while until Kohli’s resurgence came to the fore.
With Virat Kohli to be rested for upcoming home ODI series against Sri Lanka to focus on team’s away big series against South Africa, the battle for two best batsmen in the world will be decided in the times to come.
AB de Villiers got relieved from captaincy to focus more on his batting. He will have an important role to play in home series against India to close in on the gap and also to surpass Kohli when the ODI series kick starts on February 1 on wards.
