“LeBron James’ ankle is not going to be better anytime soon”: NBA insider reveals how Anthony Davis may have to take bigger workload for the Lakers
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James shows little to no sign of recovery on his ankle, would have to play through the pain in the coming weeks
The Los Angeles Lakers seemed to have found some stability to break them out of their slump. It came just in the nick of time, as they faced the Suns last night. This has helped them stay alive in the chase for the 6th spot in the West. A huge reason for the Lakers securing the win was Anthony Davis. The 27-year-old big man has seemed to find his groove and has looked like his usual dominant self.
In the last two games, Davis has recorded 36 and 42 points. At a time when LeBron James is out, and the season’s position is on the line, Davis finding his stroke again is great news for the fans of Purple and Gold.
LeBron James and his ankle do not seem to be getting better
LeBron James suffered an ankle injury in the latter part of March. Ever since then, he missed weeks due to the injury. He returned for two games, but even in those games, he did not look like his usual self. LeBron and the Lakers decided to sit him out since then. Now with only four regular-season games left, it raises the question, would LeBron James return soon?
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, LeBron James’ ankle does not seem to be getting any better. It might happen that his ankle does not get better till the end of summer. The King would have to play through the pain these playoffs.

This means that Anthony Davis would now have to assume the bigger role and put more weight on his shoulders. Davis has already shown signs of getting better and returning to his dominant self. However, would the Lakers be able to potentially seal a playoff berth, or would they duel it out in the play-in tournament? If they do end up in the play-in games, can they hold the like of Stephen Curry and his feisty Warriors? All these questions remain to be answered, and we would not know how things turn out, till the regular season ends.
