“You can’t joke anymore”: Kent Bazemore clarifies that he was joking about Bradley Beal and Steph Curry’s scoring title race
Kent Bazemore responds after Bradley Beal reacted strongly to a ‘joke’ the Warriors player made during an interview.
Unlike during the older times, it is a bit difficult to find genuine beef between players now. In fact, these slightly spicy narratives have become slightly discouraged now, and rightly so.
At the end of the day, basketball is a game, and needs to stay that way for the players to have fun. That said though, we may have some new beef in the NBA, after a recent exchange between Bradley Beal and Kent Bazemore.
It all started when the Warriors player referenced Beal’s recent hamstring injury, saying. “Then we got guys hurting hamstrings, trying to keep up (with Stephen Curry). So, ya’ll gotta do some research on that.” The player was laughing a little as he said this, an indication that it may be a joke.
However, it seems that didn’t matter to Bradley Beal. In response, he put out a tweet, saying. “You don’t know why I go out there and play and it damn sure ain’t for another man’s approval!!!”
With this situation close to reaching a boiling point, Bazemore recently reacted to the Wizards star’s comments.
“I guess you can’t joke anymore.”: Kent Bazemore reacts controversially to Bradley Beal’s tweet
The body language of players says a lot in interviews. Oftentimes, an athlete could be saying one thing but means something else completely. And according to many in the NBA community, this seems to be the case for Bazemore as well.
In a recent interview, when the subject of this feud was brought up, this is what the player had to say.

Joke, or not, his original comments were undoubtedly a bit disrespectful. It is no secret that Bradley Beal is interested in winning the scoring title. So, when something as unfortunate as a hamstring injury happens at such a crucial time, mocking the player about it is akin to rubbing salt in the wound.
With this story’s current trajectory, it seems that if the Warriors player doesn’t apologize personally, this could turn into some full-fledged beef in the NBA.
