The retention policy most likely to continue in IPL
The buzz for the next cash-rich Indian Premier League has already lit up fire now. The IPL retention policy is more likely to continue this time.
The stalwarts from their respective teams will continue to ply their wares for the same team. This is something to cheer for which comes as a good news for the fans.
MS Dhoni who played for Rising Pune Supergiant is certain to appear in yellow in the 11th edition of IPL. MSD is the main icon of CSK.

The franchise owners meeting will be conducted on November 21. The conclave is just to figure out the number of players who are going to be retained this time.
Individual player’s choice also comes into play. If any player is willing to switch to the other club, he can go by all rights or else he can stick to the same club.
“The retention policy would be there in all possibility. This is what the majority of franchises want. The only issue we need to thrash out is the number of players who can be retained.
We need to work out whether it would be three or five players. For this very purpose, we have called the meeting of franchise owners on November 21 in Mumbai,” one of the BCCI officials told to Times of India.
“The players would be given the option to decide over continuing with respective franchises or joining the auction pool. It will depend solely on them. Even if a franchise decides to open up its purse for a particular player, it can’t do so against his wishes.
If a player has made up his mind to go under the hammer, no one can stop him. He will stay back only if he’s satisfied with the new offer his franchise is making,” he added.
With the arrival of Chennai Super Kings and Royals after a two-year ban, the entertainment quotient will just get better when the teams have a go at each other.
“The first preference would always remain with RR and CSK. The IPL GC had been clear about it from the beginning. But if these players want to go to the auction pool, then these two franchises can’t do anything about it,” he said.
