“Stephen Curry is MVP of the league in my opinion”: LeBron James pays tribute to Warriors star ahead of Lakers’ play-in tournament game
LeBron James reacts to facing off against Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors in the play-in tournament.
The LeBron James vs Stephen Curry rivalry is back on the menu, boys!
Even if it only lasts for a day, the Chef and the Golden State Warriors will face off against another James led team, this time being the LA Lakers. And as fans are speculating, this is more than set to be a steamy affair.
Both teams have been incredible during their recent games. The team from Los Angeles has definitely caught more eyes. With their superstars returning, and the team suddenly going a 5-game win streak, and winning 6 of their last 10.
However, the Warriors have arguably been more impressive in their recent stretch. The team looks far more formidable than it did at the start of the season, and more than just capable of an upset. With Curry and Draymond Green leading the line, the team has gone 8-2 in their last 10, winning their last 6-game win streak.
All of this has culminated in the affair being a mouth watering one for fans around the NBA. And with all the hype surrounding the matchup, the King recently reacted to it as well.

In a recent interview, he was asked about the upcoming face-off for the 7th seed. And James was filled with nothing but respect for his All-Star teammate. This is what he had to say.

“We’re playing, in my opinion, the MVP of our league this year, in Steph. We gotta be prepared for everything that they have. They’ve got championship DNA as well… They have been there. They know what it takes and what it feels like to be in pressure games.”
Calling Stephen Curry the MVP of the league is huge, but not uncalled for. Sure, the team around him has gotten better as the season has progressed. However, the level that Steph has had to anchor the team through both good and bad times can’t be forgotten. And now, with the team finally starting to figure itself out, this could be a tough night for LeBron James, and the LA Lakers.
The game kicks off on 19th May, 10:00 PM ET, (20th May, 7:30 AM IST).
