Richard Sherman Free Agency, Possible Signings & Contracts : Richard Sherman is undoubtedly one of the biggest free agents left in the market. Here’s a look at where he could sign: 

San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers are still in touch with the All-Pro cornerback, and have apparently been working on their cap situation to sign him. Sherman had a stellar year in 2019 with the 49ers recording a 90.2 coverage grade as per PFF.

While he has been consistently injured, the 49ers should make a strong push in order to solidify their secondary. However, newly drafted Deommodore Lenoir has already shown promise in the rookie minicamp

Possible contract: 2 years, $19 million

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks are one of the most intriguing fits. Richard Sherman should automatically blend in with the Seahawks secondary as he is familiar with their scheme.

Moreover, adding him would form one of the ‘scariest’ secondaries in the NFL with Jamal Adams, Quandre Diggs, Bobby Wagner and other younger promising players.

Possible contract: 1 year, $8.5 million 

New York Jets

Why not? Reuniting Sherman with former 49ers defensive head coach Robert Saleh would be a dream for Jets fans. The future hall of famer had fantastic chemistry and understanding with Saleh during their time in San Fransisco.

The Jets are in the perfect position to sign a veteran cornerback as well. Their current projected starters, Blessuan Austin allowed 478 receiving yards in just 10 games last season and Bryce Hall allowed 393 receiving yards in just 8 games. A veteran such as Sherman could be just what they need.

Possible contract: 3 years, 29 $million 

New Orleans Saints

As per reports, Sherman has been in talks with the Saints as well. Pairing him up with Marshawn Lattimore could definitely push their defense into a top 10 types in the NFL.

While Saints head coach Sean Payton admires “His instincts, his understanding of formations, leverage” and more, the cap situation will make it difficult for the Saints to place an attractive bid for him.

Possible contract: 2 years, $14 million
