“They tried to justify Carmelo Anthony being out of the league”: Jamal Crawford reacts to Blazers star’s performance in front of booing Nuggets fans

Former NBA player Jamal Crawford hits out at league executives after Carmelo Anthony puts on a scoring clinic against the Denver Nuggets. 

Carmelo Anthony is back! And the Denver Nuggets were forced to take notice of that in game-1.

As soon as the player got on the court, for some reason, Nuggets fans chose to boo him. Every time he touched the ball it continued. And, at first, Anthony understandably seemed a bit confused. Sure, he had chosen not to re-sign with the Nuggets after being drafted, but that was close to a decade ago.

After his initial confusion though, Melo went off. He let the boos fuel his game, going god mode for the next few minutes. After those few minutes, while he toned it down a bit, the player still continued to do whatever he wanted against a helpless Nuggets defense.

While the game was going on, Jamal Crawford posted a rhetorical question on Twitter. And frankly, it was a question we all may have been asking as well all this time.

Jamal Crawford asks NBA executives how could this Carmelo Anthony have been out of the league

During the previously mentioned first five minutes, Melo had an incredible 12 points. During this period, he went 4-5 from the field and a perfect 3-3 from beyond the arc.

In the 21 minutes he was on the floor, despite being surrounded by superstars, Anthony almost looked like the best player on the court. By the end, he had 18 points and 3 rebounds, and a steal as well to go along with it.

After watching this display, Jamal Crawford recently put this tweet out.

Many fans may say he was out of the NBA due to his negative superstar mentality. His belief that he was the most important player on the team. And while that may have been why he was initially outed, being ostracized for an entire calendar year is a bit excessive.

Needless to say, the Blazers are glad they took a chance on the now 36-year-old. And after his display in game one, the franchise will hope Nuggets fans keep booing him for the rest of this series.
