“Chris Paul would be top 5 all time if he won a championship”: Stephen A Smith quantifies how the Suns star can be a top 5 point guard ever

Stephen A Smith would place Chris Paul at No.5 in his list of All-time point guards if he could add a ring to his Hall of Fame resume.

In the latest segment of Stephen’s A-list, the First Take analyst spoke about some of the greatest point guards to ever grace the NBA hardwood. The list included the likes of Magic Johnson, Stephen Curry, and Isiah Thomas.

Chris Paul is one of the best floor generals in the NBA today. The 11x NBA All-Star has one of the highest basketball IQs in the league.

Though Cp3 has only been to a conference finals once in his career. There is no denying that his presence has always uplifted a team from its previous position. This fact has been witnessed lately as well with Phoenix Suns, who ousted the defending champion LA Lakers this year. This great feat would not have been achieved without Chris Paul.

Paul’s ability to pass the ball and score, coupled with his great ball-handling skills make him the complete point guard.

Phoenix guard and team-mate Devin Booker, had this to say about Cp3’s contribution to the team’s success this year: “People have to understand, his effect isn’t just his points and his assists. It’s keeping people in line, leading every day. That alone should have him in the MVP conversation every single year.”

The elite list of Stephen A Smith had Magic Johnson at the top of the heap, who is a 5x NBA champion and 3x NBA Finals MVP and was part of the prime-time Lakers.

This was followed by the baby-faced assassin Stephen Curry at No.2. Steph has clearly revolutionalized the way the game is played today. The 3x NBA champion is the only unanimous MVP in the history of the NBA.
