Sixers superstar Joel Embiid dominates against the Atlanta Hawks, talks about the struggles of playing through a knee injury, and his final goal

The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Atlanta Hawks in the ‘A’ last night. After losing Game 1 to the Hawks, the Sixers regrouped and have looked like a much better team. Despite suffering a huge blow and losing Danny Green to injury, the Sixers did not slow down in Game 3.

Joel Embiid led the way for the Sixers. The big man scored 27 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and dished 8 assists. Tobias Harris scored 22 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Trae Young scored a game-high 28 points and dished 8 assists. John Collins added 23 points and 7 rebounds.

The Sixers were dominant in all aspects, but it was the shooting that hurt the Hawks. The Sixers were 47.6% from the deep, while the Hawks were a mere 26.1%.

Joel Embiid talks about what makes him push through the pain

Joel Embiid exit Game 4 of the series against the Wizards with a knee injury. This resulted in the Sixers missing a chance to sweep the Wizards and dropping Game 4. Embiid did not play Game 5, and he wasn’t expected to return for Game 1 of this series as well. However, despite being diagnosed with a torn meniscus, Embiid continues to take the Sixers’ court and dominate the opponents.

After the game, Embiid talked to ESPN’s Malika Andrews. Andrews asked Joel what is it like playing on an injured knee, and he responded by saying, “Even if I’m playing injured, I still got to do my job. That’s why they pay me. I want to win a championship.”

The Sixers would hope that Embiid’s injury does not worsen any further during these playoffs. As long as Embiid is healthy, the Sixers have a shot at making it out of the East. However, the Hawks would like to change the narrative and try to turn things around in Game 4. The Hawks and the Sixers face off for Game 4 on Monday.
