“Paul George went LeBron James and missed 2 clutch free throws”: Skip Bayless blasts the Clippers superstar for missing clutch free throws in a close Game 2 loss against the Suns
Skip Bayless mockingly compares Paul George’s clutchness to that of LeBron James, after the Clippers star missed two crucial free throws in a Game 2 loss against the Suns.
After coming back from the dead these past two playoffs series, the Los Angeles Clippers have found themselves in familiar territory in the WCF yet again.
Playing without the likes of their superstar Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers have found themselves in a 0-2 hole yet again, trailing against Devin Booker and his in-form Phoenix Suns team.
However, the Conference Finals between the Suns and the Clippers have been as exciting as we hoped it to be. Even with stars like Kawhi and Chris Paul sidelined for the first two games, the series has been pretty competitive. After a heavily contested Game 1, Game 2 was as close as we could expect it to be.
Thanks to DeAndre Ayton’s late game-winning alley-oop, Phoenix Suns won a close 104-103 Game 2 battle. However, Paul George could’ve easily prevented the Suns from taking this win, had he sunk the two clutch free throws with 8.2 seconds left on the clock, and LAC holding on to a one-point lead.

“Paul George missed the clutch free throws that could’ve made it a 3-point game”: Skip Bayless
Paul George had yet another great game in Kawhi’s absence. PG13 put up 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists, however, he was quite inefficient from the three-point field goal, shooting at only 12.5%.
Despite having a great outing, several NBA enthusiasts blamed Paul’s late missed free throws for the Clippers’ loss. Skip Bayless was among that group of people who blasted the 6-foot-8 swingman for his “LeBron James-like free throw shooting”. He took to Twitter and wrote:
“Paul George scored 9 all-time clutch points in the last 2:40 of that game … then obviously went LeBron and missed 2 free throws that could’ve made it a 3-point game. But no way they’re even in that game without Playoff P’s clutchness.”

Even though the Clippers have bounced back from an 0-2 deficit against the Mavericks and the Jazz, they can’t completely rely on that fact. Being 0-2 down, and with CP3 most likely making his return to the series, the Clippers need to come out strong with all their guns blazing in Game 3 and 4.
As the series now shifts to LA, LAC will hope to even up the series back in Staples Center. Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals will be tipped off on Thursday at 9 PM ET.
