“Reggie Jackson and I have dreamt about teaming up for years”: Paul George dishes on his longstanding bromance with the Clippers guard following their Game 3 win

Paul George claims him and Reggie Jackson have been dreaming about playing alongside one another ever since his Pacer days. 

It’s quite clear from the way Paul George has been playing that he’s a bit more comfortable being the definitive 1A on the Clippers. Having Kawhi Leonard active on the floor is, of course, not a negative. Him and PG have a solid chemistry when on the court together. However, it’s undeniable that George is playing more like himself ever since Kawhi went down with injury. 

Another fantastic revelation during these Playoffs for the Los Angeles Clippers has been Reggie Jackson’s ability to score at will, essentially. His offensive repertoire was always kept in high regard due to his quick first step and burst towards the rim; but his game has become much more well-rounded as he’s expanded his range and also added a bevy of separation moves to his bag.

Even without Kawhi Leonard, an offense that is being anchored by Paul George and Reggie Jackson is quite lethal and this is being proven on a nightly basis. 

Paul George and Reggie Jackson have wanted to team up for years. 

Following the Game 3 win over the Phoenix Suns to finally get a game on the board in the series, Paul George dished on his relationship with Reggie Jackson. “We dreamed of this. Many late nights, when I was a Pacer and he was a Piston. It’s just great to do it with someone you genuinely love,” said George.

Paul George on playing big playoff games with his best friend Reggie Jackson: “We dreamed of this. Many late nights. When I was a Pacer and he was a Piston… We loving the moment. It’s just great to do it with someone you just genuinely love.”

The Detroit Piston teams with Reggie Jackson on them weren’t all too noteworthy. His time in Detroit alongside Andre Drummond garnered a couple postseason appearance but nothing special. Paul George on the other hand, had an incredible cast of players around him when on the Pacers, especially during the days of the Miami ‘Heatles’. 

Guys like George Hill, Roy Hibbert, and David West provided PG with some enough help to take the LeBron-led Heat to a Game 7 in the ECF. Having a guard like Reggie Jackson would’ve surely made a difference for the Pacers as Hill has always relegated himself to a pass-first type role. 

A player like Reggie Jackson would’ve been a perfect fit alongside Paul George when he was on the Indiana Pacers and it’s a shame that these two have linked up nearly a decade after entering the league.
