“I can’t believe this is my 200th race” – Sergio Perez targeting podium at Red Bull Ring this weekend
“I can’t believe this is my 200th race” – Sergio Perez is targeting a podium in his landmark race after missing out at the Red Bull Ring last weekend.
Sergio Perez is a veteran Formula 1 driver now, safe to say. The Mexican has driven for Sauber, McLaren, and Force India/Racing Point in the past. With Red Bull now, he will celebrate his 200th F1 race this weekend at their home circuit, the Red Bull Ring.

After missing out on a podium to Valtteri Bottas on the same track last weekend, he wants to win a ‘special’ podium in the Austrian GP. The tyre compounds will change for this race, but that shouldn’t be a problem for the master with the tyres.
Perez has proven to be a brilliant signing for Red Bull, forming a credible partnership with Max Verstappen. He is currently P3 in the Drivers Standings, two places and 22 points ahead of direct Mercedes rival Bottas.
I can’t believe this is my 200th race.
“I am really looking forward to racing in the same place for a second weekend, I think this will give me a very good understanding of the car. I now have a very good reference from last weekend and I know the areas I need to improve.
“It will also be interesting to see how much the tyre compounds will change the performance and strategy throughout the weekend. I think we can do very well this weekend and it would be very special to step up on the podium here at our home race and secure more points for the team.”
