“Thanks, but call me Cam Reddish”: Hawks’ rising star responds to his coach’s comparisons with Clippers’ superstar Paul George
Hawks’ young forward-guard Cam Reddish thanks his coach for comparing him to Paul George, however, he wants something else
The Milwaukee Bucks have done it. Ending a 47-year-old drought, they have finally found their way back to the NBA Finals. In the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo, both Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday rose up for a second straight game. Middleton scored 32 points and dished 7 assists, while Holiday scored 27 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and dished 9 assists.
Any young NBA player would love to be compared to a superstar in the league. However, the case was not the same with Cam Reddish. After the game, coach Nate McMillian said that Reddish reminded him of Paul George.
“I see a lot of Paul George in Cam.”

Cam Reddish does not want to be compared to anyone else
The 21-year-old Reddish just wrapped up his second year in the league. He had shown a lot of potential since Day 1. However, when he suffered Achilles soreness late in February, there was a doubt about how would he make his return.
In the few games back since his Achilles scare, Reddish has proven to be a threat on both ends of the floor. After sealing up Khris Middleton with his defense in Game 4, Reddish has been providing stable offense in the absence of Trae Young.
After the game, when Cam heard about what his coach had to say, Reddish laughed and replied by saying, “Thanks, but call me Cam Reddish.”
After their unexpected success this season, despite all the injuries, the Hawks would be motivated to come back even stronger next season. As for Reddish, he would continue to evolve and grow as he plays in the league. One day, he may become one of the stars of the league.
