“How did Giannis lose after scoring 20 points in 1 quarter?!”: NBA fans are perplexed by Bucks’ Game 2 loss despite Michael Jordan-esque performance by their 2x MVP

NBA react to Giannis Antetokounmpo emulating Michael Jordan by scoring 20 points in the 3rd quarter and still losing to the Suns in Game 2. 

It turns out Giannis Antetokounmpo has no problem with playing like a 2x MVP even after having his knee quite literally bend backwards merely a week prior. The Bucks took to the Phoenix Suns’ homecourt and looked to tie things up at 1 a piece and after Giannis’s explosion in the 3rd quarter, it felt as though Milwaukee could make a comeback. 

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Michael Jordan share similarities in terms of being dominant on both ends of the court. They are two of five players in the history of the league to win MVP and DPOY in the same season. The Greek native surely channeled his inner Jordan last night against the Suns in Game 2 as he dropped a whopping 20 points in the 3rd quarter alone.

This 20 point explosion from the ‘Greek Freak’ is the most points scored by a player in a single NBA Finals quarter since Michael Jordan did so in 1993. Funnily enough, Jordan’s 22 points came against the Suns as well. 

NBA Twitter loses it after Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks drop Game 2 after the former’s stellar performance. 

Jrue Holiday being compared to Eric Bledsoe for his performances in the Playoffs is not a good sign. According to Statmuse, both Bledsoe and Holiday shot 41.1% from the field, below 30% from beyond the arc, and below 75% from the charity stripe in their respective postseasons with the Bucks.

NBA Twitter seems to have had it with the lack of help the Milwaukee Bucks have surrounded Giannis Antetokounmpo with as they send out a barrage of tweets praising the 2020 DPOY for putting it all out there. 

Surprisingly enough, the last 7 40-point games that have taken place in the NBA Finals, dating all the way back to LeBron James in 2017 against the Warriors, have all resulted in losses. Kevin Durant was the only exception to this as he scored 40+ on the 2018 Cavs and won the bout.
