“We need to be better! Let’s go!”: Bucks’ MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo steps up and rallies his team during a timeout against the Suns
Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo steps up and tries to get his team to focus during a timeout against the Suns in Game 2 of the NBA Finals
The Milwaukee Bucks have found themselves in a hole yet again. Even though this isn’t the first time these playoffs that they are down 0-2, this feels worse. Despite the strong start in the game by Giannis and co., they seemed to mess things up in the second quarter. After that, the Suns gave the Bucks zero chances to regain the lead.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had a mammoth night, scoring 42 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. He had no one else helping him out, as the next high scorer on the Bucks was Jrue Holiday with 17 points. Khris Middleton, who had scored a team-high 29 points in Game 1, finished the night with a measly 11 points.
Giannis Antetokounmpo takes over the timeout huddle, urges the team to perform better
After a strong first quarter, the Bucks seemed to lose their focus as the Suns came out strong in the 2nd quarter. The Suns outscored the Bucks 30-16 in the second frame and outscored the Bucks 56-45 at the half.
Giannis Antetokoummpo, who is giving his all, despite not being 100% healthy, could not take it anymore. During a timeout in the second quarter, Giannis let the emotions get better of him, and had an outburst on the team. While what he said isn’t clear, it is somewhere along the lines of urging his team to do better.

Giannis has been the leader of the Bucks for the past few years, and in times like this, his team needs him to step up, both as a player and a leader. It was nice to see Giannis taking the charge, however, the result of the game wasn’t as they wanted. Although they are down 0-2, the Bucks shouldn’t panic too much. They erased an early 2-0 deficit against the Nets and come back to win the series in 7 games. If the Bucks keep their composure, and they find someone to compliment Giannis, they can surely turn the series around.
