“Luka Doncic never demands anything”: Andre Iguodala and JJ Redick trade tales of how Stephen Curry and the Slovenian sensation are humble despite being MVP level talents
JJ Redick reveals one incredible characteristic that Luka Doncic and Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry share
Luka Doncic and Stephen Curry are two very different players.
On one hand, you have the Warriors man, the shooter extraordinaire. The 6’3” man that can take and make almost any shot, and make you look like a beginner at ice-skating while doing so.
On the other end, you have the Mavericks’ young star, a 6’7” giant, built like a truck, and is perhaps one of the more patient and crafty players in the league right now.
Both players have shown their greatness in very different ways during this past season, and are clearly among the top 10 players in the league right now. But, despite their completely different approaches to the game, it seems that the two players share something very special, and rarely ever found within superstars.
Without further ado, let’s get into it.
Andre Iguodala and JJ Redick reveal Steph Curry and Luka Doncic have never needed special treatment from others around them
As people leading normal lives, we can’t imagine having people cater to our every need and quirk. However, when you’re a superstar in the NBA, getting such treatment has been revealed to be very common.
Oftentimes, when superstars are given so much leeway, they tend to lean into it, something that can cause major problems within the locker room. However, it seems that Stephen Curry couldn’t be more different. Here is what he recently said on the show ‘The Old Man and the Three’, about the Warriors star’s personality.
“Demarcus Cousins, when he was with us, one random day he was like ‘Yo are you real?’ to Steph. He (Curry) was like ‘What are you talking about?’” Iguodala said. “He (Cousins) was like, ‘Bro you’re the best player in the league, bro you don’t get mad about nothing? You don’t ask for nothing? You don’t want any special treatment?’ Like he don’t ask for anything. He (Curry) was like ‘Nah, I’m one of the guys.’”

When he heard this, JJ Redick was apparently instantly reminded of his now teammate Luka Doncic, and he responded with this.
“The only guy I’ve really played with that’s on that level of just being one of the guys and doesn’t really ask for any special treatment was Luka this season,” Redick said of the Mavs superstar. “Luka’s special. He’s one of the guys. Obviously, basketball-wise he’s super special. But as a dude, he’s great.”
We absolutely love that, despite being as great as they are, these superstars have continued to stay humble. And frankly, we can’t wait to watch either of them again next season.
