Finn Balor explains why he chose to return to SmackDown instead of RAW. The Prince returned to the main roster on this week’s episode of SmackDown.
Finn Balor returned to the WWE main roster on this week’s episode of SmackDown. The prince interrupted Sami Zayn and then brawled with him before laying the Liberator out with a Coup De Grace. The fans were euphoric and understandably so but one has to wonder, why SmackDown and not RAW? After all, Balor was part of RAW before moving to NXT.

In an exclusive interview with Kayla Braxton on this week’s Talking Smack Balor explained the thought behind his move to the Blue Brand. He made it very clear that he was there because he wanted to win championships. Balor reminded Kayla that he had won titles at RAW and NXT and it was now the time to do the same on SmackDown.
Finn Balor explains why he chose to return to SmackDown instead of RAW
“It’s good to be back. It’s SmackDown. The fans are back, and Finn is back. I tell you, it was a hell of a pump. The energy is still running through my body. But, yeah, it’s good to be back.
“Obviously, there is always a plan. I went to NXT, [and] I became the NXT Champion. I moved to RAW. Became the first Universal Champion, [and] became the two-time Intercontinental Champion. I went back to NXT and won the NXT Championship.
“So, the reason that I’m here on SmackDown is to win championships. Buckle your seat belts; we’re going for a ride!”
Balor has had a phenomenal run in NXT as the Prince. It looks like that he is bringing the same character to the main roster as well. It will be interesting to see what the WWE have in store for him and if he will manage to become a Universal Champion in the future.
