Randy Orton WWE return

In the last few months, several reports have made predictions about Randy Orton making his WWE return. At first, there were rumors of him making his comeback at WrestleMania 39. And then, The Viper was believed to appear at the recent Backlash pay-per-view. Sadly, none of those reports came true, and WWE fans still wait for Randy Orton’s return to the ring. Recently, his father, Cowboy Bob Orton, discussed the matter and provided some latest updates.

The Apex Predator has been laying low ever since losing the RAW tag team titles to The Usos last year in May. The 14-time world champion had to take time off due to his back issues. Later in November, he went through a fusion surgery.

Bob Orton thinks doctors are against the idea of Randy Orton making his WWE return

Speaking to Sportskeeda’s Bill Apter, the WWE Hall of Famer recently made a huge statement regarding Randy Orton’s in-ring return. Bob Orton stated that the 14-time world champion has been doing training sessions. Even though he denied knowing his son’s intentions, he was sure that if Orton wants back, he would be back.

However, personally, the Hall of Famer doesn’t think his son needs to be back in the ring. And not just him, even the doctors are against Randy Orton’s WWE return.

According to Bob Orton, medical professionals might have advised The Legend Killer to stay away from wrestling. Though he did assert that his son will do what he has always done. He said:

“He’s training, so we’ll see what happens… I don’t think he needs to, I think the doctors have told him not to. Randy will do what Randy is gonna do, he always does…”

Well, it’s good news that Randy Orton is having training sessions, which means he does want to be in the ring. However, the disappointing thing for fans is that his father and doctors are against that. WWE Universe hasn’t seen The Legend Killer in the squared circle for almost a year now.

The last time Randy Orton wrestled was on the May 20, 2022, episode of SmackDown Live

Before the back issues forced him out of action, The Viper was having the best time of his career, tagging along with Matt Riddle. The unorthodox tag team (RK-Bro) even held the RAW Tag Team Titles twice.

However, the 14-time time world champion lost the titles the last time he was in the ring. On the May 20, 2022, edition of SmackDown, RK-Bro fought and lost the RAW tag team titles against The Usos in a titles unification match. As to The Viper, he has been out ever since.

Nevertheless, considering the nature of the injury, it seems Randy Orton’s WWE return date will remain a mystery until the day it happens. And by the look of things, it ain’t happening anytime soon.
