“2017 NBA Finals were better than the Bucks-Suns Finals”: Kevin Durant hilariously lashes out at a fan after claiming his series against LeBron James featured ‘perfectly balanced teams’

Kevin Durant gets into it with a fan and says that the 2017 NBA Finals featured perfectly balanced teams and that it was better than the 2021 Finals. 

Kevin Durant taking his talents to the Bay Area back in the summer of 2016 felt as though it marked the end of competitive Playoff basketball. A team that featured Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and the ‘Slim Reaper’ himself looked like a squad that would dominate for at least half of a decade. Not to mention, none of the core four were in their thirties in 2016. 

The NBA Finals in 2017 and 2018 felt quite mediocre as a team that stacked had no chance of losing. Even though LeBron James was on the other side of the ball, Kevin Durant was too much for them, especially when he knew he had Stephen Curry to rely on.

Golden State’s tyrannical reign over the NBA would end in merely 2 years due to untimely Playoff injuries to KD, Cousins, and Klay as the Raptors would capitalize on this and claim their first ever franchise title. 

Kevin Durant claims the 2017 NBA Finals were balanced and that they were actually better than this year’s. 

After Game 2 of the 2021 NBA Finals, it felt as though the Phoenix Suns would stroll towards the championship. However, Giannis and the Bucks would go on to achieve something that hasn’t been done since 2006: win 3 straight games in the Finals after being down 0-2. 

With a Game 6 guaranteed and the Suns looking desperate to win at Fiserv Forum, the 2021 Finals are starting to shape up to be quite the series. A fan online pointed out that this is the best Finals we’ve gotten since the 2016 Cavs-Warriors classic.

Kevin Durant however, had a back and forth with the fan and started off by saying, “Warriors Cavs 2017>>>>,” to which the fan replied, “Unbalanced stacked decks are automatically disqualified.” This, of course, alludes to the fact that the KD-led Warriors were quite unfair. 

Kevin Durant shockingly gets back at the fan after this and says, “Perfectly even match-up, top to bottom.”
