‘Right To Match’ policy to be brought into effect for the first time in IPL
A decade of Indian Premier League is completed and the eleventh edition of the cash-rich IPL tourney beckons for an intriguing power-packed action in the next year.
The classic return of Chennai Super Kings and Royals are one of the talking points day by day. BCCI invited IPL franchise owners to discuss the key points in the meeting today.
Right To Match cards policy will be brought into effect for the first time in the history of IPL. If sources are to be believed ‘RTM’ card policy is going to be one of the important points of the meeting as well as the player retention policy.

It is also learnt from the quotes of Sportstarlive that IPL franchise owners are keen to bring the Right To Match policy that was not followed in the earlier versions of the IPL.
It is quite clear that the franchise owners are willing to propose for the ‘Right to Match’ this time. “I don’t know what the governing council would say, but we will propose for the introduction of the right to match,” said Delhi Daredevils CEO, Hemant Dua.
Right To Match Cards is nothing but each franchise has the ability to buy the players should they bid the highest ever compared to other teams to afford the player. In case a player is up for grabs, a team that bids the highest will get the player for sure.
This will play a big part in the auction, as it could be huge when it comes to futures of Dhoni, Raina, Jadeja and other high profile stars in the auction.
Let’s see what happens!
