India release Shikhar Dhawan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar ahead of the 2nd test
Shikhar Dhawan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were released by the Indian team owing to some personal reasons.
This will be a double blow for India, as both Dhawan and Bhuvi are crucial members of the Indian side. Dhawan showed his quality in the second innings as his counter attacking gave India a chance at winning the game on the last day.
Bhuvi himself was immense with the ball as he got the wickets before tea that India so desperately needed to close out a win.

While their departures will surely be a concern for the team, the bench strength that India possesses should compensate for their losses.
Dhawan had opted out of the ODI series against Australia a few weeks owing to the ill health of his in-laws. The attacking batsman was first rested for the initial two ODIs before taking the entire series off.
It was reported earlier that Bhuvi had to leave as he was getting married in a couple of weeks. This will be a bigger blow for India as they will surely miss the services of their bowling spearhead for the remainder of the series against Sri Lanka.
After a close first test in Kolkata, India will be looking to get one up in Nagpur. With Dhawan and Bhuvi likely to return in time for India’s final test in Delhi, team India will hope to be in the driving seat heading into the national capital.
