Virat Kohli replies to Jayawardene’s tweet praising Dickwella
There are so much of things that shed light on the Eden Gardens Test between India and Sri Lanka. Rain spells at the start, heated exchanges among the players but that doesn’t take away from the fact that both the teams produced some top-notch performances.
India set up a target of 231 for the visitors. Sri Lanka tottered to stick to the wicket on the final day as the Indians made changes according to the conditions to good effect.
Sri Lanka lost four wickets against India and they badly required someone to restore things back to normal. Niroshan Dickwella and Dinesh Chandimal hunkered in there.
In pursuit of chasing the total, as soon as Dickwella came in out to bat, he played some fantastic shots leaving the Indians in chaos. Kohli had to come up with new plans.

With the shrinkage of time left in cards, both the batsmen were talking in the middle and the Indian captain Virat Kohli felt that they were just delaying things a bit.
There came some heated exchange between Dickwella and Virat Kohli. The umpires Richard Kettleborough, Nigel Llong had to restore the situation back to normal.
India pressed Sri Lanka constantly and picked 7 wickets to see the match in a draw. However, an extra 5-6 overs could have had a different result on Day 5.
The former Sri Lanka legend Mahela Jayawardene who witness the sequence of events between India and Sri Lanka came up with a tweet praising Dickwella and Kohli.
“Enjoyed @NiroshanDikka attitude and antics this afternoon. Good test match.. well played @imVkohli. Looking forward to the next one.👏👏,” Jayawardene tweeted.
