“Michael Jordan is handsome only because he has $500 million”: When Charles Barkley revealed the hilarious reason as to why people ‘suck up’ to the ‘GOAT’
Charles Barkley hilariously claimed that Michael Jordan wasn’t handsome and that he was considered so because of his vast wealth.
Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley share a great, brother-like relationship with one another. The two have displayed this publicly during interviews, like the one that is being discussed here, and behind closed doors as well. After all, being drafted in the same 1984 class and being atop the league for a similar amount of time would result in some camaraderie at the slightest.
In their interview on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley showcased their perceived personalities to a ‘T’. Jordan was his usual confident self, speaking only when necessary while also getting back at any roasts that Chuck sent his way.
Charles Barkley on the other hand, was the loud-mouthed, lovable ‘Round Mound of Rebound’ that NBA fans have come to know him as. He dominated the entirety of the conversation, throwing hilarious verbal jabs at the Bulls legend while Oprah played the role of Kenny Smith: the instigator.
Charles Barkley lays out why Michael Jordan isn’t handsome.
In this Oprah Interview, Charles Barkley didn’t hold back on any playful insults he had stored up for Michael Jordan as he went off on a tangent to very clearly state that the 6x champ was not handsome. According to him, the fact that he has hundreds of millions of dollars in his bank account makes him handsome.
“Everybody is kissing his butt the whole time but I come at him. Look, people are always telling me, ‘He’s handsome,’: he’s not handsome. I think, anytime you get three, four, five hundred million dollars you become handsome,” said Sir Charles.
This, of course, prompted everybody in the room to laugh out loud; even Michael Jordan. It’s safe to say that the ‘GOAT’ can take as many jokes as he gives out; and in this interview, he gave out quite a bit. The one that must’ve stung the most was when he brought up the fact that Charles Barkley ‘was not a winner’, alluding to the lack of rings he possesses.
