Real reason why Adam Cole signed a contract extension with WWE revealed
According to TalkSPORT, Cole signed an extension with the WWE in order to complete his storyline with Kyle O’Reilly and put him over at NXT TakeOver. The match is yet to be officially announced for the event. However, it only seems to be a matter of time and could very well be his last match in the promotion.
Cole turned on O’Reilly during the closing moments of NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day. This pulled the curtains on the Undisputed Era and kickstarted a feud between the two.
Their first match was the main event of the second night of NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver. O’Reilly picked up the win after over 40 minutes of action. They resumed their rivalry at NXT The Great American Bash with Cole picking up the win this time.
The decider will most likely take place at NXT TakeOver 36 on August 22, a match that will only be possible due to Cole deciding to honor the storyline, his opponent and the promotion over himself.
