“I think Gasly is the right person to be in this seat”– Ex F1 driver wants Pierre Gasly to replace Sergio Perez at Red Bull
“I think Gasly is the right person to be in this seat”– Former F1 driver Marc Surer advocates the return of Pierre Gasly at Red Bull next year.
Pierre Gasly is having a phenomenal season with Alpha Tauri, but the Frenchman proving his worth at the junior Red Bull team would be feeling stagnancy and would prefer to seek a move higher in the table.
And former F1 driver Marc Surer believes that Red Bull should grant Gasly his wish and make him return to the top team by replacing Sergio Perez next year.

“I think Gasly is the right person to be in this seat. He is ready, he is consistent, he is a grand prix winner,” Surer said according to Formula1news.
“And of course, supporting their young drivers was for many years an aim of Red Bull, so why should they suddenly stop doing that? I’m sure [AlphaTauri team principal] Franz Tost doesn’t want to lose Gasly because he is a guarantee for points,” he added.
“But AlphaTauri is the junior team, they should accept to bring some young drivers from Formula 2 or Formula 3 [as Gasly’s replacement]. Gasly deserves to be in the number one team [Red Bull],” Surer concluded.
No patience with Sergio Perez?
After the string of impressive performances by Perez, it’s only been two races where the Mexican has disappointed, but it surely doesn’t warrant his replacement.
So far, Perez has shown that he can be an ideal partner to Max Verstappen and have brought in a decent amount of points to the Milton-Keynes-based team, which allows him to sit at P5, only nine points behind Lando Norris, who is running P3.
Honestly, Red Bull would be more patient with Perez, as his initial performances in the season give him a longer rope to cling on to prevent his sacking.
