Deepak Hooda desperate to learn and share dressing room with MS Dhoni
Deepak Hooda who just got a maiden call-up to India’s T20I setup against Sri Lanka is a happy man. He spoke about the virtual importance of learning and sharing the dressing room with MS Dhoni if he wants to make a transition and giant strides to the game.
To be in the Indian team, one must have done something extraordinary in the second tier of international format, Ranji Trophy matches and in the domestic format as well. After getting a call-up to India side, Deepak Hooda added that he got rewarded for his India A performance.
Hooda caught the eyes of the selectors when he scored an imperious fifty followed by an unbeaten 35 before getting the all-importance surprise of his selection in the Indian team. The young and energetic 22-year-old Deepak Hooda is an icon of Baroda cricket team.
In the 31 first-class matches he has marked his presence, he garnered a flamboyant 2208 runs. However, he would want to up his ante in a bid to perform well and to keep the opposition in check to acknowledge cheers from the dressing room.
The feeling you get after you are selected to play for the Indian cricket team is completely a different feeling altogether. “My feeling (at the moment) is very good. It is a dream come true for my family. I am feeling good,” he told PTI.
Hooda is ecstatic to learn the best of things from the experienced campaigners like MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma. It is palpable the seniors’ crafty advice or crunchy tips would benefit the young players which is good for themselves and for the team as well.
“I will try and learn maximum things (after being with the team). I will observe how Dhoni bhai (M S Dhoni), Rohit bhai (Rohit Sharma), and all other players react (to situations), and that will be a learning,” Hooda added
