Chris Lynn could be the most expensive player in the IPL auction according to Ponting

Blistering Australian batsman, Chris Lynn is considered as one of the biggest hitters in the cricket world right now. Chris Lynn, who renewed his contract with BBL team Brisbane Heat, is expected to get all the limelight come 2018.

Former Australian greats have already made their bet that Lynn would be the most expensive player in the IPL 2018 auctions.

The auction for the eleventh edition of the IPL is expected to be the biggest auction in cricket history.

There has been a mouth-watering increase of 20% in the auction purse money, thanks to the mega-money deal that the BCCI signed with the broadcasters. With the increase in purse, the IPL franchises will splash more money for the big hitters.

Australia’s T20 specialist, Chris Lynn featured for the Kolkata Knight Riders last edition of the IPL, and played 7 games. Lynn smashed balls at a strike-rate of 180, and had an outstanding average of almost 50.

In his opening game of the tournament, Lynn smashed a record partnership with Sunil Narine, and if KKR does not retain him in the auctions, he is set to become the most expensive player in the auction.

Former Australian captain, Ricky Ponting believes Chris Lynn will brag a million dollar deal. “Either way I think he (Lynn) will become a million-dollar player,” revealed Ricky Ponting.

On the other hand, former Australian all-rounder, Andrew Symonds, believes that Lynn will be sold for ‘a lot of money’. Symonds also feels that the IPL franchises will be monitoring the progress of the Australian hitter.

On the other hand, Chris Lynn has continued to impress one and all with his hitting abilities for Brisbane Heat in the BBL. Lynn smashed 25 off 9 in a winning cause for the Heats against Sydney Thunder.

The Brisbane-born hitter was happy over that knock he played after returning from injury.

“To hit one out of the guts first ball was a nice feeling, it shook off a lot of nerves early. (But) because I started in fifth gear, I found it hard to go down the gears and that is something I will work on.

I always want to dominate any bowler in any situation of the game. I felt like I was in control. It would’ve been nice to have faced a few more balls, but it wasn’t to be. I’m pretty confident I can build on that,” Lynn was quoted.
