Match situation
KL Rahul was dismissed as Morkel took a stunning return catch, and Pujara had his ‘brain-fade’ moment, when he took off for a suicidal run on his first ball, ending up well short, even though the call was his.
Virat Kohli once again walked out in trying circumstances but played with intent and application to give India a fair standing in the Test match.
Vijay and Kohli decided to see off the bowling initially but ultimately settled into their own, playing their shots to keep the scoreboard ticking.
Vijay then nicked off to Keshav, after misjudging the length of the delivery.
