Virat Kohli wicket today: Virat Kohli in shock after low bounce dismisses him at Chinnaswamy Stadium
Virat Kohli wicket today: Virat Kohli failed yet again and got out on an unplayable delivery by Dhananjaya de Silva in the Bengaluru Test.
India is playing the second Test of the series against Sri Lanka at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium right now. Bengaluru is former captain Virat Kohli’s second home due to his long-standing connection with Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore.
It is a rare sight that Indian fans cheer for their captain’s wicket but that happened today when Rohit Sharma (15) was dismissed by Sri Lanka spinner Lasith Embuldeniya. Not that the fans were supporting Sri Lanka but they wanted to see Kohli bat at what is effectively a home ground for him. As a result, when Kohli entered the field, the whole stadium gave him a thundering welcome.
There is always a hope of a century from Kohli each time he walks on to bat. He scored his last international century during the pink-ball Test against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens in 2019. However, the wait for his 71st international century will go a little longer as Kohli has again failed to convert a start.
Virat Kohli wicket today
Kohli played carefully on a pitch that is supporting the spinners from day one of the match. Kohli did set his eyes by playing 46 balls but then his 47th delivery against Sri Lanka spinner Dhananya de Silva was almost impossible to play.
de Silva bowled a short-pitched off-break delivery and Kohli was in the right position to play. Having said that, the ball stayed very very low and there was nothing the batter could do about it. The ball crushed on Virat’s pads and it was going to hit the leg stump. Umpire had zero hesitation in giving him out.

As expected, Kohli was shocked after getting out as he stared at the pitch for a good amount of seconds before leaving the ground. Kohli’s face said a lot about his feelings. He was shell-shocked, to say the least.
After Sharma won the toss and chose to bat, India lost Mayank Agarwal (4), Sharma and Hanuma Vihari (31) before Kohli’s dismissal as the same put them in a lot of worry.
