Rohit Sharma opens up on Mumbai Indians’ defeat to SRH
Mumbai Indians don’t enjoy things the easy way, do they?
Season after season you see them letting the water rise up to their neck, but just as it is gushing up to their heads, they find a way out.
They are in familiar territory this time too, as they have lost both their opening games and in the closest possible manner.
Their bowlers had almost set up a win against CSK before Bravo snatching it away from them, and today it was the Mumbai bowlers who almost snatched away an impossible win from under the eyes of the SRH batting unit.
Deepak Hooda held his nerve right till the end, but it was Billy Stanlake who hoicked the ball over short mid-wicket to give SRH a 1 wicket win over the defending champions.
Rohit Sharam credited the bowlers for having brought them back into the game, but was dissapointed for having succumbed to two 1-wicket losses in the first two games of IPL 2018.
“Still early days. It was a good game. I’m sure everyone enjoyed it. Being on the receiving end for the second time is tough to digest. It wasn’t a good enough total, and our batsmen should have done better, but the bowlers showed a lot of character to get us back into the game. We have a great squad, and for the youngsters to come out and perform, it’s amazing. They have a long way to go. Tough luck, we fought till the end, but to lose isn’t a great feeling.” Rohit Sharma said
