Virat Kohli opens up on what he learnt from AB de Villiers
RCB are vying for their first IPL win and two players will have to rise to the occasion if the Bangalore franchise wants to win that elusive title.
Kohli and AB de Villiers have been the lynchpin of this RCB unit for sometime now, giving them hope and translating that hope into on field performances.
The duo has benefitted from the close relationship that they share during these 2 IPL months every year.
In a recent interview with NDTV, Kohli expressed his gratitude towards AB de Villiers for having unknowingly helped him over the course of their relationship.
The Indian captain did pick a few things from de Villiers’ game during the India-South Africa series, but hasn’t really conveyed to him as to what that is.
“I actually learnt something from him in the recent Test series that we played. I made that adjustment to my game, which I haven’t told him about yet.” Kohli said.
Kohli had a very fruitful time in South Africa, guiding India to its first ever ODI series win in South Africa and putting up a good fight in the test series, winning the final test in Jo’Burg and shifting the momentum in India’s favour before the limited overs series.
Virat Kohli became the leading run scorer in the IPL, surpassing Suresh Raina during his unbeaten knock of 92 in a losing cause against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede.
Post the IPL, Kohli would be flying off to England to play the county circuit and get himself ready for India’s upcoming tour of England, the one place where Kohli has found run scoring difficult.
The Indian skipper would thus miss the historic test against Afghanistan at the Chinnaswamy stadium.
“People have their personal opinions and I respect that. But I have to do what is best for my preparation going forward.” he said, in the exclusive interview with NDTV
