The first ODI of India’s tour of Bangladesh 2022 will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium tomorrow. While Bangladesh will be hosting India for the first time since Asia Cup 2016, bilateral ODI rivalry between these two teams will resume after a seven-year period.

Although unfortunate to miss out on the services of captain Tamim Iqbal and fast bowler Taskin Ahmed, Bangladesh are still capable enough of challenging the opposition especially after an ICC T20 World Cup scare last month.

Having finished a three-match ODI series in New Zealand earlier this week, India have received a shot in the arm in the form of several A-list players joining the squad. Needless to say, both the teams will be building strengths ahead of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 slated to be played in similar conditions.

Set to be the first ODI between these two teams since ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, their last ODI clash had witnessed India registering a 28-run victory at Edgbaston. Chasing a 315-run target, Bangladesh were bundled out for 286 in 48 overs. Been in sublime form during that tournament, current India captain Rohit Sharma had scored a 26th ODI century in a winning effort back in the day.
