“LeBron James’ Losses Came From What He is Capable of”: Former Teammate Reveals the Biggest Misconception About Lakers Star
Iman Shumpert has been around the block in the NBA for quite some time now. Shumpert was drafted as the 17th overall pick by the New York Knicks in 2011. Since his acquisition, Shumpert played alongside numerous superstars, namely Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and LeBron James.
The man was known for his shooting and being an on-ball defender.
The 32-year-old was last seen in an NBA jersey last year when he had a cameo with the Brooklyn Nets, who he had signed a 10-day contract with. Since then, the former NBA champion has gone on to partake in various interviews, where he has divulged his NBA experiences.
One such interview assisted the NBA community to view former teammate LeBron James for who he is. The greatest athlete ever.
Iman Shumpert discloses the misconception about LeBron James
Shumpert has seen his fair share of success in the league, when he attained his pinnacle in the sport, capturing the 2016 NBA championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He played alongside Kyrie Irving and the ‘King’ LeBron James during those days.
In an interview, Iman Shumpert was queried about what he believes is the biggest misconception surrounding James. The shooting guard shared his insight.
Shumpert said-
“I say the misconception with him is that the losses came from a lack of what he’s capable of and it’s not. I think his losses is just his style and that’s just how it goes. Because Bron plays it the right way, at the end of the game, when Mike says I don’t give a f*** what happens, I’m shooting this shot..Bron says, I’m going to get to this spot and shoot but if I get here and any one of them is flinching off of their man, I’m beaming it to that man.”
An accurate representation of precisely how James has played the game his entire career. It might not always account to triumphs, however, for those who are aware of the four-time NBA champion, his idea of playing the game includes involving his team.
Is James the most complete NBA player of all time?
Seldom do we come across a talent like the four-time NBA ‘MVP’. For his stature and size, James should be dominating the paint and low post. In lieu, the ‘King’ has gone on to revolutionize the role he plays in, innovating a new position in itself: ‘the ‘Point Forward’.
Yet, James’ greatest moments have come through his unselfish plays. For someone who is 6’9 and 260lbs, the 37-year-old moves like a freight train and has the vision and awareness of a point guard.
In fact, it is his selfless style of play, that has enabled him to demolish records year in and year out. Just like the one, he attained a couple of days ago, when he surpassed, passing wizard, Magic Johnson on the all-time assists list in NBA history.

When it’s all said and done, James might indeed be perceived as the greatest athlete to touch a basketball.
