Highest 7th Wicket Partnership in ODI full list: Highest partnership for Bangladesh in ODIs

Bangladesh and India are up against each other in the 2nd ODI of the 3-match series at Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla stadium. The Indian bowlers took the 6 wickets early, but the duo of Mahmudullah and Mehidy Hasan Miraz combined for a record partnership for the 7th wicket.

At one stage, Bangladesh were 69-6 after the end of 19 overs, but they managed to score 271-7 after the end of 50 overs. Mehidy completed his century on the very last ball of the match, whereas Mahmudullah scored 77 runs. Both of them added 148 runs for the 7th wicket.

It is safe to say that the Indian bowling was well below par, and Bangladesh should have been stopped for a lower total. With Rohit Sharma’s injury, it can be a really difficult target for the Indian team.

Jos Buttler and Adil Rashid have the highest 7th wicket ODI partnership under their belt, where they stitched 177 runs against New Zealand in Birmingham’s Edgbaston stadium. Buttler played a knock of 129 runs, whereas Rashid scored 69 runs. This record is a tough one to break.

Earlier this year, Bangladesh’s duo of Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Afif Hossain combined for 174* runs against Afghanistan in Chattogram. Both of them scored their respective half-centuries. Today’s 148 runs partnership of Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mahmudullah comes at 3rd position in the list.

Basil Hameed and Kashif Daud also added 148 runs for the 7th wicket for UAE against Namibia earlier this year. The partnership of 138 runs between Jos Buttler and Chris Woakes comes at the 5th position.

The highest ODI partnership for Bangladesh is stitched by Tamim Iqbal and Litton Das in 2020 for the 1st wicket against Zimbabwe. Both of them stitched 292 runs for the first wicket, where Das scored 176 runs and Iqbal scored 128 runs.
