“Welcome Back to the City, Aaron Judge”: Kevin Durant Withdraws His Initial Comment About The 2022 MLB MVP Re-signing With the Yankees

Kevin Durant is a real-life troll, not just behind his many Twitter handles. He’s voiced his thoughts without hesitation many times, but most of them have been about basketball. Unless it’s Scarlett Johannsson’s bath water, then it is from his real account.

This time, after his game against the Charlotte Hornets, Durant was asked about an American sport that’s more famous in Japan. Aaron Judge, a player who’s spent all his career with the New York Yankees as their star home run hitter, just re-signed with them.

KD was asked what he thought about the 360 million-dollar, 9-year contract. To which he replied, “I’m a Washington Nationals fan; I don’t care about Aaron Judge.“

He knew as soon as he said those words, the city of New York would erupt. Even more than them, his PR team would have a harder time controlling the damages. As soon as the video came out, KD tweeted from his official account, saying, “It’s all jokes. Welcome back to the city 99″.

Aaron Judge to the New York Yankees – A surprise move, but a Welcome one

The Leading Home-Run getter and 2022 AL MVP Aaron Judge looked for greener pastures. And why would he not, considering the Yankees haven’t won anything major since 2009? Shohei Otani is two years younger than him but is world-famous. Judge is nearly as capable, yet not many know him.

Scoring only 2 home runs lesser than the great Sammy Sosa in 2001, Judge has been crucial for the Yankees. And they repaid him handsomely, giving him a whopping 360 million over 9 years. He will earn his career earnings to date in one year, with his new contract.

The 6’7 center fielder could have chosen the sport KD plays, yet he chose to be a monster hitter. A triple athlete through High school, one can only wonder what damage his frame could have done in the NBA.

The Yankees will look to build around their superstar, who’s the only one since Barry Bonds to average 100% more than everyone else in the league. If Seinfeld the TV show were real, George Costanza would be on his knees, begging Hal Steinbrenner to keep him.

After defeating the Charlotte Hornets, The Brooklyn Nets have moved to a 14-12 standing. That puts them happily at 4th seed, and they look to build on the momentum. So much controversy had them in a quagmire, but KD is pulling them out of it, One Ashy hand at a time.

The Next game they play is against Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks. They suffered a defeat at the hands of the Knicks themselves, and the Nets will look to hand the “King of Broadway” a double loss on their trip to NY.
