PlayStation Store allegedly leaks Street Fighter 6 release date ahead of The Game Awards

Capcom’s latest 2D fighter, Street Fighter 6 potentially had its release date leaked today. A PlayStation Store listing has seemingly given away the game’s release date just a few hours before The Game Awards. Here are all the details and everything we know so far.

Street Fighter 6 reportedly releasing on June 2, 2023

Earlier today, multiple Twitter users posted screenshots of a PS Store page confirming the Street Fighter 6 release date. This lines up with an earlier leak from an Amazon listing that revealed a June 2, 2023 release date. The store page also revealed that the game will ship in three separate editions. These are Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate Editions. While other details are scarce, the Deluxe Edition components were revealed on the page:

  • Year One character pass: Includes four characters
  • Colors 3-10 for each of those Year One characters’ Outfit One
  • 4,200 Drive Tickets (in-game currency used to buy cosmetic items)

Another interesting revelation was that the store listing included the PlayStation 4. It seems that Street Fighter 6 may be a cross-generational title unlike newer games like Need For Speed Unbound.

So far 11 characters have been revealed with a guaranteed four more waiting in the wings. As mentioned in the Deluxe Edition contents, these four characters will be released in the first year of release. Here are all of the characters included in the game so far:

  • Ryu
  • Ken
  • Chun-Li
  • Guile
  • Juri
  • Jamie
  • Luke
  • Dhalsim
  • E. Honda
  • Blanka
  • Kimberly

While most of the crew are veterans of the franchise, Jamie and Kimberly are fresh additions to the roster. Players will get to try them out during the closed beta that kicks off on December 16. More details are expected to drop at The Game Awards which begins in a couple of minutes.
