Alleged ‘Cop-Shooter’ Freed By Former Green Bay Star Ryan Grant & NFL Fans Aren’t Pleased
According to sources who spoke with The Post, ex-Green Bay Packers running back Ryan Grant assisted in getting an ex-con out of jail on Wednesday after he was accused of shooting an NYPD detective during a Staten Island drug bust.

According to sources, Grant contributed a significant amount of the $500,000 cash required to obtain a $5 million bond to free Nelson Pizarro. It wasn’t immediately clear how ex-Green Bay Packers player Ryan Grant and alleged NYPD cop-shooter Nelson Pizarro were related.
The action incensed the police. When Detective Dominick Libretti used a ballistic shield to shield himself and his team from the gunfire, he was hailed as a hero. Pizarro, 40, was charged in January with shooting Detective Dominick Libretti in the leg during a drug bust at his New Springville home. He had seven prior arrests in New York. Pizarro, who was not the target of the raid, is accused of opening fire on officers with a 9 mm Beretta handgun while hiding in a bedroom.
Ryan Grant was also once booked by Minneapolis Police Dept. in 2013
Officers from the Minneapolis Police Department had responded to a report of a shooting that had taken place at a home in the 3600 block of Columbus Avenue South in the City of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, on or around July 8, 2013, at just after 11:00 p.m. When responding officers arrived, they discovered that two men had been shot during what appeared to be an armed robbery.

It was discovered that one man, F.B.H., had at least one gunshot wound to the torso and was dead. Later, the medical examiner determined that “gunshot wounds” were the cause of death. An arm wound from a gunshot was not life-threatening for his brother, L.A.B-H. Additionally, the suspects physically hurt their brother-in-law P.Y.E., causing minor injuries.
The two suspects, later identified as DIAMOND LEE JAMAL GRIFFIN, born March 13, 1989, and RYAN GRANT, born May 1, 1991, allegedly demanded money and cell phones from the three victims before shooting at them and fleeing through the backyard.
